Easy Basic Pancake Recipe

Moms Pancakes, easy pancake recipe, pancake recipe, traditional pancake recipe

For the last few months we’ve revamped our entire meal menu. I have taken most of the snacks and junk food away from our home and replaced it with other things that are not only healthier, but easier to make. I talked about the Wildtree freezer meals that I have been doing. That was just the start. I started to watch what we are eating in other things and making small adjustments. The first thing I did was ditch ALL my oils; Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Vegetable Oil, Sesame Oil, you name it.. I tossed it. We’ve started to use the various Wildtree Grapeseed Oils for everything. Once I got my family used to that change, I started to make other changes. Altering recipes is easy. When my husband makes pancakes he prefers to dive for the box of premade pancake mix. I prefer to ditch all that box stuff and make things with raw ingredients. I just want to do without as many of the preservatives and fillers that I can.

When I make pancakes for my family, I grab the flour, baking powder, eggs, etc and I make my mix. We don’t usually make bigger breakfasts during the week, so on the weekend is when we make our large breakfast as a family. My kids are looking forward to mom’s special pancakes every weekend. I have decided to share my pancake recipe with my blog fans. No matter what I add to the pancakes (or serve them plain) my family just loves them!

Easy Pancake Recipe

Making pancakes is not rocket science, but there is a few things that can make your pancakes yours! These are the recipes that we can no longer read off the recipe card because we’ve pulled that recipe and used it so many times! This is going to be one of those recipes in my house!

To make your simple pancakes minus the box mix you will need a few key ingredients. Those are:

  • 1 Cup Wheat Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons White Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter Flavored Grapeseed Oil (or you can use Unsalted Butter)
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Natural Grapeseed Oil (or Vegetable Oil)

And these simple instructions:

  • Preheat your griddle to 200°F or use a small skillet pan over a medium heat
  • Mix your ingredients to form your batter
  • Spoon your mix on to your griddle or skillet. With the wheat flour it is not as runny as your typical batter, so I take 2-3 tablespoons and then spread it out into a circle shape.
  • Cook until the pancake starts to bubble; Flip and cook until brown.

This will make about 6 pancakes that will fill the plate (inner part, not over the rim). Of course you can make your pancakes smaller or larger. This pancake batch feeds my family of four our breakfast.

Thanks Faythe!! It is very filling. The wheat flour is a bit heavier so it’s not as fluffy (still fluffy just not bisquick fluffy), but still yummy!!

Thank you for the comments on my design! I didn’t do it! I am not talented enough! LOL I’ve made a few tweaks and gave my idea and colors to the wonderful Ms Katy (www.KissMyCode.com) and she ran with it. She’s made quite a few blog designs for me so I never have to worry!

Happy New Year to you and yours!! May 2014 bring you lots of happy moments, treasured memories and beautiful blessings!!
